Mid Term Break

This week is midterm break.
It is a wonderful addition to the school schedule this year: we have a whole week off school to go and visit friends and 'see the world'.

And because I am a ridiculously lucky girl I am going to....
NEW YORK!!

I have never been (and was very sad when I didn't get to go with the sdss choir) and am going to be there with my daddy and so I can't wait!

And the cherry on top is that I am in Toronto for two days on the way and get to see my family!

Life is beautiful
(especially when I ignore all the work I had to bring with me...)

Canadian Please

A few weeks ago we had the 'North American National Evening'.

It was a wonderful mixture of songs, poems, and skits from both the Americans and the Canadians.

And most of the Canadian stuff was good. We had a skit of the montreal prank call to Sarah Palin, a translation from 'Quebecois' to French and a presentation on how to tell the difference between an American and a Canadian, amongst other things.

However, the best Canadian bit by far was a video made by two of the first years to the song of 'Canadian Please'. I don't know if this will work, but I hope it does!

Enjoy!

10% Ball

Statistically 10% of people are homosexual (where they get this statistic, I have no idea. Nor do I believe it. but regardless...) and so last night we had the first ever '10% Ball'. The idea was to raise awareness/comfort level with homosexuality and so everyone went to the ball with someone of the same gender.
I was lucky enough to have the beautiful Anna (Wales) as my date:

Ailish (Ireland) and Jonathan (Isreal/Canada), the two masterminds behind the event

Me... dancing before the event officially started

Lin (Denmark) and Hannah (usa) looking stunning together
Nora (norway) and Sarah (Isle of man) with epic masks
Hans (the Netherlands) and Sam (UK) also known as Fred and George
My buddy dorm! Penelope (Quebec), Carys (UK), Hannah (Italy/austria) and Likeer (China/Denmark)

Dancing in the Bradenstoke hall
my dancing buddies: Lindsay [or half of her face] (Scotland), Tilda (scotland), Morgan (barbados), Jonathan (Isreal/Canada), Ailish (lreland), and Laura (usa)

And some decorations.

It was so much fun!
